2E Balance Team August Update

Dear community,

The last couple of months have been difficult for me due to unpostponable obligations and I have been unable to forward certain aspects of the game as I would usually like. One of the things that has fallen behind schedule is the first of what should be the normal Balance updates. I have already begun to make changes to try to prevent the same thing from happening in the future.

As you should know, the new expansionThe Menagerie has just become legal. As mention in this article, some of this errata is designed to support this release. Traditionally, Balance updates are meant to be released on the first Monday of a month, but in order to make sure all changes go into effect as the cards just released become legal, we're releasing this three days early.

Here is a full list of the changes we've made:

• Accelerated Aging will now be overcome at the end of the mission attempt instead of the end of the turn. In addition, we took the opportunity to update the "his or her" to the now-standard "their."
• A Pattern of Lies has gained the now standard, "Otherwise, choose one of those personnel to be stopped."
• Dressing Down's cost has been reduced to 2 and likewise adds, "Otherwise, choose one of those personnel to be stopped."
• Power Shift becomes unique.
• To Rule in Hell's point requirements to win the game have been reduced to 100 points.
• Ceti Alpha V (Forge Settlement) has become a dual-sided mission, flipping when complete. The opposite side has the title Ceti Alpha V (Escape from Purgatory) and a modified version of the order on Joaquin (Superhuman Lieutenant).
• Ceti Alpha V (Escape from Purgatory) and (Forge Settlement) changed from gametext "Cards an opponent owns cannot prevent or destroy of copies" to "Cards an opponent owns cannot prevent or make you lose command of copies"
• Devos II (Secure Son'a Outpost)'s Strength requirement has been increased to 36.
• Survey New World's Strength requirement has been increased to 31. In addition, as is traditional when errataing pre-Unnatural Selection missions, the title is being changed to Near Polaris (Survey New World).In addition, we took the opportunity to update "at this mission" to "here" and the "his or her" to "their," consistent with newer wording standards.
• Akorem Laan (Revered Poet) has gained the Past icon.
• Lyndsay Ballard (Back From the Dead)'s species has changed to Kobali, to match Q'ret (Adoptive Father).
• Korath (Duplicitous Tinkerer)'s cost has been reduced to 3 and his ability requires him to be stopped.
• Joaquin (Superhuman Lieutenant)'s order has changed to specify ships "you own" in its conditions and may now only take ships from your discard pile.

As usual, all errata is effective immediately.
