Mod hat on.

Let's knock off calling each other liars please.

We've already had someone get a sanction for implying such and adding some choice adjectives to it. While I'd rather not set a precedent at this time that an accusation of being a liar in and of itself immediately triggers a sanction, repeated accusations of such (at least without some sort of evidence of such) will be sanctioned.

"So and so is lying and here's why..." is fine. "So and so lied abut this and that and here's evidence of it..." is fine. Just calling someone a liar and leaving it at that is attacking the person and isn't helpful to any kind of productive discussion.

Mod hat off.

Attack:

take aggressive action against (a place or enemy forces) with weapons or armed force, typically in a battle or war.

or

an aggressive and violent action against a person or place.

Let's be precise with our language. This coddling of the minds in the internet age has gone on long enough. Yes, words hurt feeling. As people, we should have empathy for each other.

Words are not a physical assault on your person and you do not need to be protected from them.

I feel safe in saying that the usage of the word "attack" in the concept of verbally attacking someone is commonly accepted as proper.

You have every right to not like the concept, but that doesn't make me imprecise in referring to it.

Lol

I am amused at how you quoted one (of many) definition(s) that didn't fit what someone was trying to describe, but happily overlooked the one that fit perfectly.

Attack:

2. criticize or oppose fiercely and publicly.
synonyms: criticize, censure, condemn, castigate, chastise, lambaste, pillory, savage

I know about someone who has been in jail for "just words".

Words are a powerful tool which can create as well as destroy.

Is that allowed?
Given that Google is neither a person, a discrete category or a class of persons, Rule #11 would seem to not apply to them.

I stand corrected.

Why is this a banned behavior on a message board for an all volunteer organization?
