Ooh! What issues are we talking here? I would assume comic books feel free to span casts all the time, but I might check out a comic event with a giant mixing pot. (I remembering being excited as a kid for the Invasion series of books and then being utterly disappointed, like the writers did not get the same notes at all.)

I'm thinking "The Q Conflict", which was a six-issue miniseries, where Q hosts the Metrons, Trelane, and Ayelborne (the Organian) and they draft crews to settle the latest "dispute", in lieu of the usual method of causing suns to go supernova. Hijinks ensue.

And because people are gonna wonder, here's how the teams shook out:

Team Trelane: Kirk, McCoy, Worf, Dax, Tuvok, O'Brien, Quark
Team Q: Picard, Spock, Crusher, Seven, Odo, La Forge, Uhura
Team Ayelborne: Sisko, Chakotay, Data, Sulu, Bashir, Troi, Kim
Team Metrons: Janeway, Riker, Kira, Scotty, Paris, Chekov, Torres
