To Charlie's point - yeah, maybe we're nitpicking. But nitpicking Trek plotholes is a time-honored tradition dating back decades. ;)
I think the "no Picard, STFU & GTFO" was a personal / institutional grudge, not due to lack of ships.

Does anybody have a half good explanation why they were able to perfectly transfer Picard's consciousness into an Android body but not Data's?

The golems are, in essence, biological organisms, with biological brains (allowing for things like mind-meld). Data's consciousness was formatted for a positronic neural network, not a biological neural network.

And yet they're all somehow created from a single one of Data's positrons...

As a tree is created from a single seed. But you could not transplant the parent tree into the seedling.

But maybe the consciousness of said tree...

But Data's consciousness wasn't transplanted into the other synths. Impressions, memories... essentially data (with a lowercase 'D'), was transplanted. But the synths were no more Data than Picard is.

At least the mighty sentience got the coordinates to which they have been summoned - they shall be back.

You mean robo-tentacle-thingy.
Can't be all that mighty, if they haven't evolved past tentacles.

Because Brent Spiner doesn't look enough like Data anymore. And plot requirements.

But that's the beauty of it! The new androids look so much more human like, it would've been the perfect scenarion to have a fat, aged Data.
At least it would've been much more believable than the double chinned android from Nemesis...

This is more of a TNG comment than Picard, but the whole "Brent Spiner is aging, but Data doesn't!" issue never struck me as a huge deal.

We know from the episode with Lal that Soong type androids can basically look however they want to look, so it makes sense that either Soong (or perhaps Data himself) programmed Data's appearance to gradually change to simulate aging as a way to make people more comfortable with him.

The whole giant menacing tentacles thing was totally cringe.

Not that anything really matters. Borg have Sikarian gateways now, they only need about 5-10 to take over the entire galaxy so good luck with that 8)

They already had transwarp conduits, and those let you bring your giant d6s. Borg never suffered from a lack of how, just a lack of will to.
