Hey I remember posing this challenge in the chat room years and years ago, only I had more positions and you had to choose characters from different IPs altogether.

The fault I see here is justification. We all (should) know Trek and the characters so it's not hard to justify. But choosing people from entirely different franchises requires justification that unless the series is known could be impossible to get across.

I kinda like the idea of "across franchises", but I suspect the article is Trek-only because it's clickbait for Picard.

I can't remember the entire crew I came up with but it had William Adama (BSG) as captain, Susan Ivanova (B5) as first officer and Rupert Giles (Buffy) as counselor.

Conn: Sulu. This ship needs more sex appeal. Oh my.

Chief engineer: Torres. TOO SEXY TOO SEXY......
