We need Saavik CotDs STAT!

This sucks. :(
This one Saavik, not this one Saavik as they are different actresses.

Veteran character actor Earl Boen who played Nagilum in the Star Trek: The Next Generation second season episode "Where Silence Has Lease" has passed away due to lung cancer at the age of 81.

Source: https://variety.com/2023/film/news/earl ... 235480866/

https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Nagilum

As an aside, I'm surprised Nagilum hasn't made it into 2E yet, given he's one of the original 1E Premier dilemmas. In fact the only 2E card from that entire episode is Calisthenics Opponent .

With Sympathy,

Mattgomery Scott.

Sorry to hear that.

Definitely a rare opportunity for an in memoriam dilemma COTD. Hopefully we don't miss it.

Seems we've lost another TNG guest actor this past week.

"11 January 2023. Actor J. Patrick McNamara, who played Captain Taggert in the Star Trek: The Next Generation second season episode "Unnatural Selection", has passed away."

Sources: https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Portal:Main
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0573688/

His sci-fi credentials also included "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," and two "Bill and Ted" movies.

He doesn't have a card as far as I can tell, though I've put his character Captain Taggert as the next prompt on the Memory Alpha Random DC Thread if someone wants to have a go.

With sympathy,

Mattgomery Scott.

I didn't see Eddie Paskey listed.
Eddie Paskey (20 August 1939 – 17 August 2021; age 81) was a former actor remembered mainly for his role as Lieutenant Leslie, a recurring character during Star Trek: The Original Series. (Source Memory-Alpha)

I think he is the only redshirt to have been killed on the show, but comes back to life on future shows.

I think the memorial may be reserved for actors who have cards.

Truly the reason why I haven't updated recently is, you know, real life problems. He may well be mentioned in the later portions of this thread.
