Even if that decision gets made, it shouldn't affect Lackey until Marcus does an update.

The general rule is whatever is in effect at the beginning of the tournament remains in effect throughout the tournament. I see no reason that wouldn't apply in this case. If I'm wrong, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
