It's when two people have the same number of VP's.

Victory Points (VP) – A measure of the relative success in each game. A player may earn between 0 and 4
victory points in each round of a tournament. The player with the highest victory point total at the end is the
winner of the tournament.

Tie -
to make or have an equal score with in a contest
to equalize (the score) in a game or contest
to equalize the score of (a game)

I think I see how this could happen, but the reality is the tie breakers will just go to Strength of Schedule and as you are not really playing for anything, I think that can be the end of it.

Checking in on the tournament page, MVB is 2-0 with a pair of Full Wins. Seppl is 1-0-1, as is Ensign Q. Both Seppl and Ensign Q have to notch Full Wins in round 3 to have any sort of tie, and the tie breaker would likely go to Seppl as he played MVB whereas Ensign Q did not. But of course, all of that presumes MVB will lose, and lose fully! :cheersL:
The scenario I imagined was if MVB gets a TT, and Ensign Q gets a FW, giving them each 10 VP (and the same record of 2-0-1, actually). I know that the formulas will give us a winner regardless and we don't need anything further, but I know that can feel unsatisfying for the players, particularly those two at the top. So I wanted to try to gauge whether that would be the case.

To catch people up, Ensign Q and I connected on Monday, and we played today. TT 0-0.

One game left to hear from, but it doesn't affect this: Congrats MVB for the tourney win!

James Heaney ( @BCSWowbagger) vs Mathew McCalpin ( @Professor Scott )

James FW 100-0 over Mathew. Great game. Lots of bonus point action and nail-biter to the end.
