This event has 8 players in it, so technically we only needed 3 rounds to declare a winner. At the end of round 3, I am the only undefeated player in this event. The event is scheduled for 4 rounds. Going into the next round, I have nothing to gain and everything to lose.
???

The OPG says (and has always said) that the recommended minimum number of rounds is 4 for 8-15 players.
Huh. I could have sworn it was up to 8 on the 3-round event. I stand corrected!

I do understand that it could be done in 3, as there should be one decisive winner assuming everybody gets FWs and FLs. I think the reason 4 is recommended is because that often isn't the case.

Mathematically it should be 9-16.

Thanks, everybody, for explaining. It'll take me a while and a number of these kinds of situations before I have it all down. (Not sure if I'll ever remember all the math by heart.)
Good luck, @jadziadax8 . But I've been playing MvB enough in the past couple of months, so let this cup pass from me.
Actually I hope I get paired with @Professor Scott. I never got to play him yet!

On the chance I were to win tomorrow, Maggie could play either Paddy or myself (she's already played Christian), otherwise she plays Paddy. I believe that the only way Maggie were to lose the tournament would be if whomever beats her and there are no other 3-1 players at the time - then it come down to H2H. A 3-way tie and she would likely win based on Strength of schedule but that would be easily determined once the pairings are made.

You're a bad, bad person.
Not as bad as Leroy Brown. I hear that he's the baddest man in the whole damn town. Badder than old King Kong and meaner than a junkyard dog...
