I can say that I am excited and that I can not wait. I'm happy that the CC is giving us such a high level event.

Okay, North America, are you ready for the Spring Break of Trek tournaments? Because Continentals 2011 is coming to SAN DIEGO!

Why should you bother coming to Continentals this year? Did you miss the part about San Diego???

- We will have major Continentals events for all three games: 1E, 2E, and Tribbles, with high-level prizes for each!

- We are playing 2 miles from the beach! Get up early and enjoy the sand and surf, or head over after the tournament for some late night waves.

- Make a vacation of it! The tournament is 30 minutes from the world famous San Diego Zoo, 20 minutes from the Wild Animal park, 5 minutes from Legoland, and an hour from Disneyland.

- Enjoy the local player community! Section 31 will be on hand to perform live coverage of the big events, and you can meet and play against some of Risa's top-level players that you frequently hear about on the podcast.

- COMIC CON! Remember when Continentals was at Comic-Con? Well it's too busy of a con to spare time for cards, but we can still live the dream. San Diego Comic-Con is the week after Continentals, so take the week in between to see the sights, then stay for the biggest fandom party on earth!

Continentals is going to be a big fat Star Trek party in America's Finest City. Come out, enjoy some Trek, trivia, and fun, and just enjoy the view!

Sings: Come to Quark's, Quark's is fun, come right now, don't walk; RUN!

So, just so I'm understanding, the qualifying tournament to get into Continentals Day 2 is Friday?

Michael,
Clarifying so as not to look for flights that get in on Friday morning but for other days.

I'm taking requests for the Thursday night 1E event.

I. What start time would you like?
(No earlier than 3 PM, as late as 6 PM)

II. Sealed or Constructed?
Any event would have a free entry with product provided.

IIi. If you choose constructed, lets not do OTF as the main event is already that format. Variety is the spice of life. Revised or Standard?

The Ninja Scot wrote:So what is the difference between a modified and non-modified McIntyre bracket for Day 2?
This is the "unmodified" McIntyre system. The difference is that the McIntyre system as described there reseeds between the first and second rounds, while the "modified" system given in the OPG is a pure bracket. As a result, to prevent first-round rematches from occurring too early, there is a crossover between the two halves of the bracket between the second and third rounds; in the unmodified system such mixing is dealt with by the reseeding.

This is the modified system.

These are other such systems.
