Probably beats not playing Trek, or worse, playing 1E. :P :P :P

I'm not sure, nob, but it's close. I have a real hate for the draft format. I'd rather play sealed. When I played in one game, I had to play someone who drafted 2x At An Impasse in a different pod. Both drafts were the biggest NPEs I have had.

I got a timed win because of Surprise Amity. I could fix draft by fixing the card matrix. Certain cards need to be in the starter pack and other have no place in this format.

Gooooood morning, NACC!

2E Continentals is under way! We have 21 players in attendance, 8 with earned byes. 6 games in progress for first round. One pint of beer already consumed (not by the TD). Lots of laughs already.

Second round has started, one player added late to bring the total to 22. Will post more info as I gather it, including HQ choices now that all players are in the tournament.

Observartions:

5 [Rom] and 5 [TNG]: No Surprise. Speed and download power abundant

I'm guessing the [TNG] / [Fer] deck is Brunt/Cadets. It's been awhile since anyone has dusted that off, but it can be good if you don't see it coming.

NO [Voy] , not surprising, since [Fut] [Fed] is pretty much strictly better

NO [Fut] [Fed] on the other hand is a complete shock. With Barry and AVB in attendance I figured SOMEBODY would play relativity

NO [Kli] is another shock. I haven't seen a ton of Discommendation being played, and even with the Guidance of the Council getting the errata hammer, it's not like Klingons suddenly became unplayable... just ask Kris.

Overall, I see about a dozen of the 22 players that are strong enough to take this thing down, so with a cut line at top 8, some quality players are going to be on the outside looking in when it comes time for the Bracket:

My top 8 Prediction (in no particular order):

Corbett
Timmons
Jaeger
Sonsteby
M. Frid
MVB
Weininger
Harrington

Third round has begun. Top 4 matches, and currently all undefeated:

Matthew Frid vs. Nate Wineinger
Preston Holida vs. Neil Timmons
Barry Windschitl vs. Mike Harrington
Michael Van Breemen vs. Steve Nelson (both with modified wins)

Notable match between Kevin Jaeger and John Corbett at the same row of tables.

That's seven of my predicted 8 in the top 10... What happened to Sonsteby?
