You can also shorten the voting window for runoffs if you have a timetable to maintain.

It's less that there's a specific timetable, and more that keeping things moving does a lot to keep people interested. And, so far, I'm pleased with the amount of vote-shifting I'm seeing during the 2 day voting windows - it gives people more of a chance to make their case and actually see a shift in voting.
