Apologies if this is an obvious question but I've spent a while looking through the website/forum and not found anything - is there guide/tips as to how to get started? For some reason I remembered owning some of the cards when I was a kid, and a google search later I found an Arstechnica article and realised the game was alive and kicking. Anyway, I have a printer and an urge to rediscover the game but as it's been the best part of 20 years I have no idea where to start (for example, couple of decent starter decks, etc)

Welcome Garethspur! You have landed in the Second Edition gameplay forum. 2E is steamlined version of the game you played 20 years ago. This is a good thing, because some people find it easier to pick up than First Edition, though that is also an awesome game. We have some resources for 2E that you might find helpful.

I wrote a series of articles a couple of years ago profiling beginner-level decks for every affiliation in both Editions.

For 1e I'd recommend reaching out to Paddy Tye (KazonPADD) or Niall Matthew (Sexecutioner)

For 2e I'd recommend reaching out to Will Hoskin (Gumbo) or Nick Yankovec (NickYank)

Those chaps should be able to be able to hook you up with the UK scene pretty well.

Struggling a bit. I've found a local printer who has done a test run and the cards print out nice and clear on paper. I'd like to get three or four beginner friendly decks printed to play with my partner, but no idea where to start. Any suggestions?

The first post in the link provided by edgeofhearing has seven very beginner-friendly decks in it. Any of them would be great to print and try out.

Hello There!
If you're a new player or revisiting the game, might I suggest the Online League and The Dojo's Discord Channel?

We're at about 170 players currently from all around the world and The Discord/The Online League is full of returning and/or new players just like yourself. We got a bunch of guys who can walk you through either first & second editions, or Tribbles and specifically Lackey.

...and if you aren't interested in playing yet - atleast come say hi and make some new chums. We talk about everything and can answer any questions you may have especially when the message boards around here seem lifeless and cold!

I should note that that version of the TNG deck isn't legal with a draw deck of only 32 cards. Those last three slots will be filled by a card that will be released in the future.
