It's Wednesday! We're more than halfway through the week. Since we are over the hump, let's look at a question!

Let's talk points. There are a ton of ways to get an extra five points here or there. Every affiliation has them and there is no shortage of going 'around the corner' so to speak. The two mission win deck that has been around and evolving since the start of the game relies on this strategy. Conversely, a subset of cards have you losing points, putting you in a deficit for which to make up ground.

With all this adding and subtracting, how do you keep track? Do you use a counter? Tournament card? Just remembering? I will note that lackey has a way to add points but it is not as easy to do in face to face games.

How do you keep track of points?

For bonus points: a six-sided die, each spot being 5 points (usually on one of the HQs or equivalent starting missions (Caretaker's, CAV, etc.)).

I've rarely found myself losing points that aren't bonus points, so can't recall how I've recorded that in the past. Presumably, something similar.

+Bonus Points: Poker Chip or die on the HQ

-Bonus Points when I don't have any but solved a mission: Poker Chip or die on the solved mission.

The latter doesn't happen often, but it's easy enough to track.

I like to use glass beads or a die. 1 bead or dot on the die indicates 5 points. When a mission scores bonus points (i.e., Investigate Maquis Activity), I will put the marker on the mission. For any other types of bonus points, I usually indicate them by putting markers on my headquarters.

On the rare occasions I go below mission points, I will show that with a bead on a mission indicating the negative value.

Whenever me or my opponent earn or lose bonus points, I use coins to keep track. A nickel for 5 points, A dime for 10 points, A quarter for 25 points.

Die typically, since I usually travel with several large dice that light up and easy to read for even someone with my eyes. If it's a deck where I'm scoring a lot of bonus points (Labor Camp, GUYS/P&P, Just Like Old Times), I'll write it down.

My preference is generally to just remember. But I find most opponents prefer to use a die to indicate how many batches of 5 extra points they have, so I tend to do the same. It's more for my opponent's benefit than mine.
