It's Wednesday! We're more than halfway through the week. Since we are over the hump, let's look at a question!
One of the responsibilities thrust upon me is to investigate and report of alternate universes. I am required to visit and provide full reporting on a specific number of universes at regular intervals.
One such trip involved bidding for your first turn. Before you draw your opening hand, you and your opponent secretly bid a number of counter to start with for the first turn. The winner is guaranteed to go first with that number of counters and the loser gets the full seven.
I know this will cause consternation with cards like Gateway, Historical Research, but this particular universe had a lot of cards that gave a bonus if you went second. A lot more.
This week, let me know about how many counters you would bid for your first turn if given the option and let us know if the poll above. Yes, this will depend on your deck as if you are playing four-or-more, you will bid differently than if you are playing cadets. Think generally how many counter you would bid. Remember, you are voting for the number of counters you would have remaining! Revoting is allowed so be sure to let us know your reasoning.
Don't worry about this being implemented in our universe! There is a huge potential for abuse and of the thousands of universes I visit each year, this has only happened once. I am not convinced this is not a horrible idea.
It is fitting that as we close out the Year of the Ferengi, we have a bit of a bidding war.
