It's Wednesday! We're more than halfway through the week. Since we are over the hump, let's look at a question!
Five words. There are five words that when I type them, I realize I am going off the rails. Note that a) this does not usually deter me and b) usually occurs at least several minutes after everyone else realizes I have gone off the rails. Sometimes these questions veer more towards gaming in general and usually invite those five words as a prelude. So, without further ado ...
Bear with me a moment
One of the card types in the game is an Interrupt. They play and immediately go away. Generally their immediate effect is short lived but they can have a longer lasting impact in the game. There is a slight surprise element especially compared to events which tend to stick around. They also tend to stay in your discard pile after play and are more often than not one use only.
In video games, you have Items. These are similar one time use and have many uses as well, such as replenishing your health/magic points, getting rid of a negative status effect and so on. Some are more powerful than others and the designers tend to sprinkle them along the way. You rarely get a bunch at once but by the end of the game have a good collection for that secret very hard boss.
This is not a perfect analogy. There are vast differences between the two, especially since you'll put in maybe a coupe dozen interrupts but have hundreds if not thousands of items in a game. While there is some overlap it is not complete.
So which is your favorite? Let us know in the forum above. Give your thoughts below as revoting is allowed. Hurry; the poll closes in a week.
