It's Wednesday! We're more than halfway through the week. Since we are over the hump, let's look at a question!

The big Trek news from last week is Premiere Remastered. Over three hundred cards have been looked at with most of them changed in at least some fashion. The changes range from a name change to a reworking of how the card functions with the core of the card remaining.

Take a look and let us know what card you would like in Second Edition in some form, at least. Let us know the reason for that to be he priority.

As always, I make no promises, but who knows shat can happen if a strong enough case is made.

Unlike 1E, it's not early 2E that needs attention. It's what came after. 2E's mechanics and design are quite balanced. It's the cards that break those conceits that unbalance the game and make it less fun to play.

Counterpoint: 2003-era Solitrek was no fun.

I'm confused by this post.

Are you asking for us to request a card from the Second Edition base set to be remastered?

Or are you asking what card from Premiere Remastered we would like to see in 2E?

For a 1-E card coming to 2E, the first that comes to mind (and shockingly hasn't been done) is Anti-Time Anomaly.

Every game needs a reset button of some form. Otherwise Aggro is too strong. Now in STCCG, both 1E and 2E, aggro isn't attacking your opponent, it's speed mission solvers.

A board reset allows slower decks that need setup time to rebuild.

A well designed reset must:
- be able to be played early enough to offset fast decks
- provide parity of effects on the surface, while also allowing players some way to figure out how to get an advantage, or at least make up for the cost of playing it.
- slow the game, while not stalling it out

Borg Ship

The OG Borg ship dilemma was exactly what Q described in Q-Who. Able to strike terror in the hearts of both players. You might wipe out the opponents ship with it, but now you had to worry about it coming thru your missions as well.

To which I'd say this highlights two areas of 2E:
- Dilemmas should have a high risk of utter annihilation. You shouldn't be as safe as you are.
- The two mission lines are too separate at times. Precious little things affect all players at once. I'm too safe from the things I do to mess with you, and there's annoying little ways to actually mess with you in a significant way.

The latter. When a 1E set comes out, I'll ask which card you would like to "Second Edition Ize' for lack of a better term. This time, we're looking at Premiere Remastered.

I think it'd be interesting (in theory) to see a mission with no attribute requirements appear in 2E. Something like Investigate "Shattered Space".

Maybe have it be X skills (or X total levels of skills), be 0/10/20 points as base, but with text similar to that of Risa (e.g., When you complete this mission, score 5 points for each personnel who uses his or her skills to complete this mission.)

. Manuel wins 75-0 TW good game! :cheersL:
