Just did another small update. Anything else that people want on the list?

Abbreviations for recent expansions would be nice. Is the canonical abbreviation for The Twentieth Anniversary Collection going to be XX or something else?

I'm not sure.

To be honest I went to add items for the most recent virtual sets - but many of them are one word and I have not seen the shortened much on the boards. For thinks like The Twentieth Anniversary Collection they haven't been out long enough to set a precedent IMHO.

I welcome suggestions...

It's been a while so I'm bumping this tread in case there are things to add.

I originally set out to document reoccurring abbreviations I had been seeing; but lately the there hasn't been much to catch my attention - would people like it if we assigned obvious abbreviations for all sets based on precedent? Like "LLP" for Live Long and Prosper?

This seems to be a good place to ask about terminology.

What does 'nerf(ed)' mean? I noticed it on some of the card pages, and a new user (obviously smarter than me :P ) already rolled with it in another topic. It has to do with errata, I guess, but it isn't truly synonymous, right? I thought it might mean that it's become the target of a Silver Bullet or a Referee card, or something?

For us newer peops, it might be nice to add not-immediately-self-explanatory terms like that (and, e.g., Silver Bullet etc.) here too...? But I guess that's a sliding slope...

Anyway -- perhaps the term 'nerf' has some logical origins ("etymology?"), too, that I'm missing?

I don't know the full history, but it's slang for "made useless". Think of it as your sword being replaced by Nerf swords. :)
