Events with numbers:

I tried searching through http://ussexcelsior.com/stccg1e/rules_2-0-1.html and maybe I missed it, but I can't seem to find out what the number on certain Event cards means?

The Big Picture

I read in that rulebook that : Each player who has not completed (or scouted) at least two missions, including one Planet and one Space mission, must score an additional 40 points to win.

If so, then what is the point of the card: "The Big Picture" ? It reads the exact same except also noting that those two missions must have point boxes.

Is it a white number on a green background? That is a countdown. Basically the event self-terminates after so many turns.

It's part way down in the Icon Legend.

The rule is "new" and only in the OTF rules. In open that rule isn't in effect so you would need to stock and play The Big Picture to get that effect.

What's a Mission Specialist?

And how does "Retask" work? http://www.wixiban.com/images/ccg1e/fc/1EFCO034.jpg

A missions specialist is a personnel with exactly ONE skill and NO special downloads. Dr. Farek is a good example that gets a good bit of use.

Retask: if you seed the Borg Ship dilemma and your opponents hits it, on your turn, you can play retask. It will allow you to download, from your deck a borg cube and the drones to staff it. It then removes the dilemma in play. The cost for this is you can draw or play no other cards on your turn... a good trade off.

I suggest ignoring Borg until you have several games under your belt...

Also this.

Borg is HARD. It gets confusing REALLY fast. Even some very experienced and high end players wont play Borg due to its ability to drive you to insanity.

However, if you are already insane, it may be a short trip :)

Note this only works if you are playing Borg - who are not beginner friendly in any way. at all.

Yeah I know The Borg are the hardest by far, but I'm still trying to learn everything bit by bit and I'm doing box openings and I want to be able to at least explain a few game concepts as I open Borg boosters right now. Really appreciate the help :)

I mean I did play for a couple months in the late 90's, but that was a long time ago and I was a kid. So yeah I still desperately need to catch up on the rules. These question posts really help so I appreciate everyone's time - thank you :)
