Want to say a huge thanks to everyone who attended. Despite the last minute cancellations, the event went smoothly-ish (We were like an hour and a half late in getting there because of Friday night)

All my friends at the nautical party made the participants feel very welcome. Sailor hats, mermaids wearing VERY little (I was trying my best not to look down) Human jellyfishes and German dancing ensured a brilliant first night.

The OTF event saw ZERO decks, which everyone thought was refreshing. A-Games were brought by all, the standard Hirogen bullshit from Alex, smooth evasion by Gary, a cracking Cardie/Fed mashup by Johannes and my patented Dominion destroyer (which failed to deliver)

Hero of the event was Jon. One of the traditional Decipher era local crowd, This was his first time using OTF rules and virtual cards. Instead of going out of his comfort zone using TNG, he took a Hirogen deck he loves to use and splashed in the likes of Mining, New arrivals and Taking Charge among others. He completely smoked me. Well done!!!!

Round 2 had a country face off, with English vs English, Scotch vs Scotch and German vs German.

Kev, my childhood opponent who hasn't had time to play because of family, decided to spectate today, just so he can get the feel of the game again. He was a fucking trooper, helping keep us hydrated with countless beer and Jager, while laughing at my losing streak.

Players don't come to Aberdeen Anarchy for some high level OTF tournament. the real challenge, the real pride, as always, is for the Main Event.

The past couple of years have seen Silver Tin Iron Mans, where players have torn up entire packs of Motion Pictures, Blaze of Glories and many Future Enterprises. We saw the Bastard Side Deck last year, where Supernovas could be played on different tables!

This year saw a simpler format, but just as deadly: Premiere to Blaze of Glory. Play as printed. No Errata. Only three banned cards; Red Alert, Hor'gahn, Time Travel Pod.

Another Aberdeen local, Daniel, couldn't find deck building time due to only coming back from work the day before. But he is itching for more STCCG local action ASAP.

The hot cards that saw play were Black Hole, that shitty card that closes it, Q, Q2, The Sheliak. But those players were also playing personnel and ships?????

Not me. my draw deck had only FOUR different cards, Anti Time, Parallix, Kivas Fajo and, because AA is the ONLY event in the world that endorses it, Raise the Stakes.

My choice for seeding was almost 20 copies of The Line Must Be Drawn here, in case someone wanted to nullify my Q dilemmas. Alex encountered my Q and just as he was away to take the spaceline moving, I reminded him that he could nulify it. He thanked me for the tip, and BAM! minus 80+ points in one go! Asshole still won though.

The hot choice to win, the Faces of Beer (FakU and The Beerbarian) belted through the rounds by destroying all of the spacelines (our match needed a second table due to the fuckload of ❖ Space.

At the end, the Faces of Beer prevailed and took the true title of the day.

Typical dirty Germans, sneaking into our country and taking our titles.
