Well, the link goes to the page, and the page contains the current image.

I bet that COTD uses some collection of image file URLs, and that collection hasn't been updated with errata.

Short answer: Because I was lazy, it would take 3x as much code to have it detect whether it should display the errata or original image, so I just defaulted it to original image, and I figured that the images were small enough and the errata changes (mostly) minor enough that hopefully nobody would notice anyway.
