It's a new Regional season, and it's time for a new predictions competition. Unlike last year, we're guessing who will be the Most Improved player by rating after the Regional. Just like previous years, the winner will get an Ambassador Foil, guesses need to be made before the day of the event, and non-Regional events during Regional season will be used as a tiebreaker.

https://www.trekcc.org/tournament/index ... ntID=10970
Space Coast Regional: West Melbourne, FL
Last Year's Attendance: 5 Players
Last Year's Winner: Sean O'Reilly
Preregistered This Year: Sean O'Reilly (1643), Daniel Matteson (1548), Avery Matteson (1418). Also attending: Robert McGinty (1471), Matthew McClain (1401)
My Prediction: Often, when I pick a player, it curses that player, and he or she loses. I tried to do that to Sean all season one year, and avoided the curse until (I think) continentals. Sean, I'll leave you be this year; I'm picking Matthew McClain now.

Michigan Regional: Ypsilanti, MI
Last Year's Attendance: N/A
Last Year's Winner: N/A
Preregistered This Year: Jon Carter (1947), Robin Honeycutt (1769), David Bowling (1545), Jarrod Cafaro (1500), Aaron McCullough (1512)
My Prediction: I know Robin's got an eye on those ratings points that Jon has, perhaps he'll take them?

Also, big thanks to Brian "Armus" Sykes for doing the math and wrapping up the previous threads. I know I'm going to appreciate it even more in a few months when I go back and figure out who won!

Florida: Sometimes you gotta go #chalk. Can't argue against Sean "Old School" O'Reilly.

Michigan: Carter is clearly the best player in the field but there's a lot of downside potential with this field. Between up-and-comer Robin and former multiple world champion Dave Bowling, anything can happen. And I'm old enough to remember when Aaron McCullough was winning 40+ player tournaments in Michigan's heyday. In short, it's a minefield.

This isn't an easy call. I'll go with Robin because you don't make the trip from Buffalo to Ypsilanti "just to drop by", you go to win!

Consider me the wild card. This will be my first tournament and actual game since I believe the Motor city comic Con in......... 2002 or 2003???????? But I read the rules and the cards and the tournament reports and know what I'm doing LOL No one will know what to expect of me (including myself) LOL

If you're not wielding a Romulan Barber deck, I'm quitting this game.
