i need a clarification on borg queen ability (When reported, selects any skill; may change skill at start of each turn).
1. how many times can borg players can do this to other borgs
2. can they change borg skill to (Where present, your Borg are each STRENGTH, Integrity, and/or Cunning +2)
3. if they can, does it stack?
4. can they change any skill to any skill they want to like (where present, your borg are each security +2) so they start acting like the sliver in MTG.
5. just an odd one but, wanted to know because of the card Valuable Prisoner. if i give a borg player a captive. is that card a captive or abduction now?

The Borg Queen does not actually change another personnel’s skill, though I see now how you read it that way.

What she does is, when you play her, she can gain any of the “regular skills” (ie acquisition, computer skill, empathy, etc), and can then change which skill she has once per turn.

Hello, Jerman!

Image

... So, welcome. 8)

About your last question (5) -- if a card says there's capturing going on, it's Capturing a personnel. But many Borg cards Abduct (to Assimilate), which is similar but different. (Words I wrote with a Capital are worth looking up in the Glossary.)
The Rulebook wrote:The Borg sometimes abduct personnel prior to assimilating them. This is considered different from capturing (so an abducted personnel can't be Tortured), but functions identically: the abductee is escorted, moved like equipment, and can be freed if left unattended.
A bit more about (3): I think with 'stacked', you mean whether it's Cumulative. That's irrelevant for your current question, as Edge pointed out; but an important game feature. There's a Glossary entry about that, too. (The Glossy, really, is your best friend. Well, aside from your play group! :D )

Aside from your questions, please feel free to tell us something about yourself and your game experiences / preferences, in this topic; or about your other ("non-nerd"?) hobbies, here.

And here is a "STCCG 101" article to get you started with some FAQs.

But -- perhaps you knew all that already. :) Well, in any case, have a good time here; and I hope to chat with you more.

Personally, I'd also be interested in your opinions on these nice topics (none of my making): your favourite most-1E card (and why) and "nerdy" non-card items you own.

And for some quick laughs, go here (and multiply).

What you did here was fine. But on the boards you can also find various general rules questions threads (which are often educational) for all 3 games (like this, for my favourite: 1E/First Edition), and via the Players / Region sections of the website you can find other players in your area. You can update your own location via Tournaments and Update Profile.

Other members will probably jump in soon, making other suggestions about how you can join casual, official, and/or online gameplay (TK -- here's your cue! :D ). (TK is an avid organiser of online play and community-building, but he can probably tell you better himself. You'll meet him, for sure. )

Regular skills are one - or two -word skills, such as Physics or Stellar Cartography.
Special skills are usually explained in a sentence with a period at the end.
