If i remember correctly, Iconian computer weapon was used offensively to draw and play your entire deck in a single turn: commandeer empok nor, download about 30 equipment, put all that stuff on a ship, return everything to hand with STP, run into self-seeded ICW, discard all your equipment and draw a card for each, then call devidian door a dozen times to put 12 great personnel into play in one turn for a massive headstart. Creative, convoluted, crazy.

Got you so a combo card. Sounds crazy.

I have an abiding dislike for Temporal Micro-Wormhole, since it's just a big ol' middle-finger to affiliation identity.

Back when whatever Rare we got in a pack was exciting, Wind Dancer was a huge disappointment to me. I'm not sure I've ever seen an Away Team stopped by it.

Maman Picard used to be a lot better when it was printed. There were only four affiliations (as opposed to whatever our current count is), there was only one spaceline, and Feds were inordinately popular - if you were in position to capitalize on it (fleet at the spaceline end, or mission stealing with Roms/Kli), you could get mileage out of it.

I randomly wish that nullifying one half of a combo dilemma would nullify the entire thing. Double the rewards and double the risk, plus give the old Scow or Plague Ship time to shine. And then the rules are like "nah."

That andAlien Groupie were the first two rares I ever pulled. Thinking back, it's kind of amazing I stuck around with that luck.
Wind Dancer made it into the BradyGames player's guide, and possibly the Groupie as well? So that's saying something about them. Something nice.

In all fairness, that BradyGames "strategy guide" gave a top 100 cards list at a time when there were only 363 cards in the whole game. Which may have been a questionable choice, but I can actually see Wind Dancer being in the top third of cards if Premiere is all you're dealing with. There weren't a lot of walls then(Shaka being a huge exception)... Impassable Door is far weaker, Hologram Ruse can be overcome by just throwing more bodies at it. The list of playable Premiere personnel who could pass Wind Dancer isn't that long, although of course the Feds walk through it the easiest (Worf, Data, Picard, and Riker all pass it). Roga Danar or a weapon would be the best bet for all the others.

Alien Groupie I can't defend. Maybe combo with Thine Own Self to permanently put someone away? But the random selection still makes it weak.

If I remember right, they put Data Laughing in the top 100 cards list which was pure indulgence (at first you could only get the card by buying the book) and completely indefensible. Two-thirds of the card was a broken link, and as for the rest you'd rather stock Hugh or a Kevin 99.99999% of the time.

I don't see how it was even a ok dilemma back in the day. 1 requirement and it is very common too.

So what about you?
Back in the days of Premiere only there was a very good chance of getting decked, something I've been with this cards. So this was actually really nasty and if you found enough of them you could really be in alot of hurt.

Not everything needs to be overthought or abused to be good/powerful =)

Again, Wind dancer was really powerful. Most decks didn't want to use mission specialist back then because they didn't exist =) And as most Youth was found on them that was really hard. having enough strength was really hard without lots of hand weapons or a varon-t disruptor. music was not an easy skill to find back then, especially if you didn't play Fed.

It could actually be a really decent wall back then. For some it was a missed mission entirely.
