In a world where Hill's will sell you 36 packs of AU for $8, I don't think it makes a lot of sense to spend $7 on a single starter deck.

That said, it depends what you're looking for! Starter Deck II was not a bad product, by any means, and might be just what you need if you're looking for a little simple casual play.

Are you new to the game? You can print cards for competitive play. just need to buy about 200 or so commons to use as backers (dirt cheap)

If you are actually wanting to collect physical cards you are probably just better off buying large boxes of cards until you get about 80% of the rares then buying singles on ebay to complete sets.

If you're just getting into the game this is not a bad place to start for that price - the 8 new cards are worth having.

However, as Takket mentions above, if you've got a lot of stock cards, you can reprint the cards in this expansion ...
