Hi folks,
my fellow sparringspartner and former World Champion Andreas and I gathered together for a little 1E session yesterday. Here is how the three games went.

Game 1:
For our first game I chose a rather old school Klingon deck spiced up with some new cards. It uses Study Divergent History and HQ: Executive Orders for up to 4 draws total. For reporting it uses Camp Khitomer and The Great Hall. It is not top Tier but pretty fun to play with Bluegill-pimped Blood Oath gang and Battle Bridge for some possible interaction. Andreas played his favourite affiliation the Dominion and countless Hidden Agendas made my head spin in addition to Comfort Women I feared some Captured-action and Enemies of the State, with only Warrior's Birthright as a possible counter. He started in the Gamma Quadrant, giving me a little time to assemble some peps which I kept on a cloaked ship to avoid the capturing. I attempted a Space Mission, got stopped by Dead End as last dilemma and saw my Groth damaged with his incomong Warship. And then he revealed what he was aiming for. He turned a Valuable Prisoner, relocated one of the killed Klingons to Ineternment Camp, playing a Prisoner Escort. -5 points for me and 8 points for him, discarding Valuable Prisoner. Nice tech. I kept downloading Blood Oath ships to scare his Warship off and solved a Space mission on the Spacelineend far from his Warship and solved. Had to go for a planet and encountered The Enemies of the State. But not with the usual Integrity peps but with Strength (Clown: On his Throne) Kira, The Intendant and Neela all boosted by Bluegills. He murdered someone with The Intendant, turned another Valuable Prisoner, gave me -5 point with another Escort. Thanks to the Blood Oath gang I could pass Enemy of the State with Strength and solve, having only to head over to the Dead End mission for the win. But I was intrigued by his tech which can pretty much catch you off-guard.

Second Game:
Andreas played Bajorans but not the common Turtle-Version but using Raiders and Resistance Cell, Duck Blind and Process Ore: Mining. So he drew lots of cards. I chose Vulcans with a Gender-themed dilemma set. He attempted pretty early and hit a Quantum Leap and Rinnak Pire was relocated to my only reporting point, the Vulcan Time Location. And that is where my trouble began: He started playing Smoke Bombs preventing me from beaming my reported peps to my ship. Damn... Nasty. As my first action I beamed up and flew over to normal spaceline for some attempting. I wasted my It's only logical on a space mission which I actually could solve but got stuck at the planet mission stopped cold by Enemies of the State. And guess what: I got nailed to this planet by Andreas, constantly throwing Smoke Bombs to hide and stop my personnel. I do not know how many copies he had in his deck, but it seemed to be infinite... Meanwhile a ton of Tribbles were polluting my ships and missions... Andreas for his part struggled hard with the Gender-themed Dilemmas of mine. So after nearly 2 hours of playing and none of us getting anywhere we opted for a true tie. Damn, that was exhausting :) .

Third Game:
My TOS against a not quite up-to-date Hirogen-Holo-solver. My little gimmicks with Tantalus field and Attack Authorization did not carry out, due to the two different quadrants. To make things short: The TOS people cheated like mad as usual and by turn five or six the game was over.

Conclusion: Enemies of the State used so veratile is nasty. I admired Andrea's tech regarding Valuable Prisoner and his abusive use of Smoke Bomb. Maybe it should be limited to once every turn. My gender set did pretty well as did TOS, which is by no means surprising. I hope they get some balance soon.
