Hi. Interesting questions.

My opponent's holographic away team encounters Female Love Interest. So the following happens.

Female randomly selected.
Dilemma attempts to relocate the personnel.
[Holo] Personnel can't relocate so deactivates.
Opponent plays Holodeck door to prevent deactivation.

Questions is - Is that [Holo] Female now returned to the Away Team, or do the form a separate away team which is no longer part of the mission attempt?

Yup. [Holo] can get silly if you're not prepared for them.

But what happens if I use 3rd function of holodeck door to prevent the deactivation? ;)

I´d say it stay in the away team, since the reloacte is not done and substituted for a try to deactivate the hologram, which can be prevented by HD.

Its like a phaser saves a guy from being killed by denavian neural parasites.

IMO the hologram never left the away team if the deacitvation is prevented, that hologram never where deactivated or relocated in the first place
