If an entire crew infected with Tsiolkovsky Infection abandons the ship, do they get their skill back?

If not, how do you remember which crew members are infected? They can't infect new personnel can they?

(I did read that new personnel arriving on the ship get infected also)

The key words here are "while aboard".

Everyone on the ship is infected and loses first-listed skill.

Everyone not on the ship is not-infected and is fine.

If someone leaves the ship, they are not on the ship anymore, so they aren't infected anymore.

If someone boards the ship, they are on the ship now, so they become infected.

This doesn't make GREAT story sense, since, of course, in the game's "story" it's a contagious disease that shouldn't care what ship you're on... but sometimes story has to get compromised to make gameplay work, and this was one of the earliest compromises.

(The only dilemmas I can think of that infect a group of people who can then go their separate ways and you have to somehow remember which crew were infected are REM Fatigue Hallucinations and Rascals. And, yeah, it's a headache, which is why Decipher/the CC stopped making cards that work like this. :) )
