5000 is actually a very robust number for statistical sampling. You only need about 300 per demographic for a nearly unimpeachable forecast.

Identifying the correct demographics is where you can fail, though. Which is part of what led to underrepresented genres.

If we wanted to bring in Kelvin alternate timeline stuff, we could take a page from Discovery and treat it like the Mirror Universe. Give it it's own quadrant icon and it will make Full Mixing difficult. The worst you would have to worry about is a little TMW mixing or the occasional STP drop.
