Hi, all.
In a recent game, my opponent and I found that we were reading from different rulebooks. I was reading from the Rulebook https://www.trekcc.org/op/1e_rulebook/ , and he was reading from the "Basic Rulebook" https://www.trekcc.org/op/1e_rulebook/?streamlined=y .
We found a discrepancy in the rules for personnel battle, were you determine the extra kill for the losing force. The Rulebook says:

We found a discrepancy in the rules for personnel battle, were you determine the extra kill for the losing force. The Rulebook says:
Randomly select a combatant from the losing force who is not already mortally wounded. That combatant becomes mortally wounded. The Basic Rulebook says:
The winner randomly selects one of the unstunned, un-wounded personnel from the losing side as a casualty. The casualty dies.In the first, stunned personnel are part of the selection, but in the second, they're exempt.
