Hi folks!

It's time to get hyped up, because March Madness is just around the corner. This thread will serve as the master link to the polls, documents, and other information you may need during the course of the event. Questions and discussions are welcome, either as replies in this thread or in different ones on the web.

To get things started, here is the Official Guidebook to March Madness 2024. Big should out to KazonPADD and Iron Prime who helped put this thing together.

Official Guidebook
Google Documents Version
Downloadable PDF (Large File)

Here are PDFs of all the cards in each bracket, as well as a master PDF of all of the cards in the game:

Card File PDFs
Andorian Bracket (Upper Left)
Bolian Bracket (Lower Left)
Caitian Bracket (Upper Right)
Denobulan Bracket (Lower Right)
All 68 Cards

Again, a big shout out to KazonPADD, Smiley, and Professor Scott who helped comb through the cut file to find this year's entries!

I hope you're excited. I know I am!

They are included in the article going up tonight at the tick, along with the polls to vote on the Round of 64! I'll tell you this though: 3 of the #17 seeds upset the #16.

I think it got stuck in WIP status instead of Ready. I've just published it, but you can get to it here:

Sorry about that!

And now it has. (I had to wait until I saw the article with the winners

The bracket form needs to be updated to include the Seed 16 winners.
And done - I did mis-speak, since I have to wait for the article, and then manually update. No advance peeks for me! :D

Good morning! We have 47 votes in the 12 hours since the polls went live. Here are a few quick data points:

1) There are only a few upsets so far.
2) But, lots of matches are very close.
3) Like 1 vote close.
4) One of Lucas' favorites is in a neck-and-neck race. The other is less close.

Polls are open all this week and over the weekend!

Only if you score points.

NOTE: Since the winning card (and I honestly hope it's a single winner this year) will be subject to playtesting, functional details may change to put the card in the right place on the power curve. But, on the current gametext, the answer is "only if you score points."

The polls for Round 2 will be posted in just a few hours. Here are some facts from Round 1:
  • We had 92 unique voters, but only about 2/3rd provided email addresses to be eligible for prizes. Sadly, we didn't break 100 in order to double the prizes for this week, but that offer remains open the entire game.
  • Across 32 matches, only 5 ended up in upsets.
  • The biggest spread in a single match was 67-19; it was not an upset.
  • The smallest spread was a total of 3 points, occurring in 2 different matches.
I hope you have fun as we go into Round 2!

Was updated about an hour ago. Once the vote counts are up I'll see if I can squeeze those in as well.

Timing-wise, I'm aiming to get them done in the morning after the article/votes go up. (So I know what to update!). If life gets funky, they may be delayed but I'll do my best to at worst have them day-of.
