I've been thinking about Alternate Universe Door, and how it was the first "seeds on table" card. I know this is unlikely, but are there any stories about the card during development/playtesting? Was it designed as a seed card from the start, or was it ever a card that you had to draw in to?

Technically, there were the three facilities ( [Fed], [Kli], and [1E-Rom] ) dilemmas, and artifacts from Premier in 1994 that stated or by rules were designed as seed cards. There may be other Premier cards that did the same ... I'll look at the original cards to check on that,

The [1E-AU] Doorway was the first card that allowed persons, ships and actions not from the mainstream STCCG era to enter play. I do remember that there was a lot of talk in the early days of the Decipher on-line forums the THIS was the mechanism that would allow TOS themed cards to enter play.

(( Updated to add Artifacts in the first paragraph above. Completely forgot about them.))

The second part of this card was obviously a mechanism to counter early power cards. As I recall it was placed in the deck to counter the cards listed in the "Stock in deck ... " lines of the card.
