While I was making a chess joke with a friend, we saw that The Romulan Underground abbreviates to TRU. First, please say that was done on purpose because it's hilarious if it was. Second, I realized that it's a still-existing case of the "I said you can ATTEMPT it...I said nothing about SOLVING it" trap, so might you give thought about changing it to play on your Romulus System planet?

i thought there was something in the rulebook that said if you are allowed to attempt, that allows you to solve as well... but i honestly can't find it anywhere lol

Well, that came up more with trying to use Espionage for mission theft, and of course the solution there was to change the attempting language so that it wasn't blanket permission. But the line about "You may not attempt or solve other missions." remains in the Rulebook, and it was that "...or solve" that prevented Espionage from working as mission theft.

Now maybe the intent of TRU is to allow for mission theft if your opponent is also in Romulus, but given that the general ethos is "Theft = Bad," I wasn't going to proceed off that assumption.

(But I DO remember with that rule change to the effect of "It's now possible to steal a Samaritan Snare that forces you to attempt it." So it really does come down to "Was it their intention for TRU to allow for theft or not?")
