I always read it as blanking the suspended card. If it ever gets not-suspended, it's no longer blank and its game text kicks in.

Based on feel for language everyone probably treats it like that. The card is in play, but doesn't do anything on its own. The problem is more in what way can other effects interact with suspended cards. Moreover, is just the game text blanked, or all parts of the card like the title?

As a side note: this didn't come up because of an actual play situation, but rather because I was toying around with custom cards. Let's imagine there is a card that says "Plays on table if Deadwood is in play." Now, can you play the card if Deadwood is suspended by Frank Hollander?

Even though this is just a virtual problem at the moment, it could become genuine in the future.
