Seedzen der dilemmas.

Have you prior experience? (If "doch", denn just skip the weitere post unten.)

I once started to translate into my mother tongue, an English novella that I wrote myself. I gave up after half a page. I found it frustrating and annoying work. :( Also, I couldn't get the sentences to have the same atmospheric impact -- which was important to me for that story. (And totally unnecessary in a game manual, of course. :) )

I also see in other fields how difficult translation of prose (or lyrics, or subtitles) really can be.

I hope (and, luckily, reckon!) that translating non-fiction is a lot easier than prose. Just don't feel disheartened if it turns out a tad harder -- or takes longer -- than expected. It is a noble and herausforderliches unternehmung; just persevere. Du kannst es schaffen.

Alles gute damit! :cheersL:
