Just wanting to confirm my understanding of these two facets.

-- If I play a dual-affiliation personnel, I choose one affiliation for them to express, fully, at any one time.
-- Therefore, a dual non-aligned/Fed personnel is either non-aligned or Federation at any given time.
-- So, if I have Lore in play, I can report Gillian Taylor in non-aligned mode and have them work together.
-- ...but I can later send Gillian off on her own, switch her to Federation mode, and have her attempt a Federation mission.

Anything incorrect about this?

They just cant be together in that incompatible mode. Whatever they do in their own freetime is up to them.
