If a card like Business Gambit or Victory is Life has a bonus point box but no instructions on what you have to do to score the points, do you simply place the card in your bonus point area once it resolves? Is that supported in the rules anywhere?

er... both of your mentioned cards tell you, what you have to do to play the card. THEN you score the points and place the card in your point area instead of the discard pile.

Hmm... I did find a section in the rule book that explains what to do if a dilemma with a point box doesn't specify how to earn the points:

These points are scored by meeting the dilemma's requirements during the mission or curing the dilemma afterward.

But I didn't find anything about non-dilemmas...

It's in the rulebook, in the "leaving play" subsection of the "Playing a card" part. I had to look it up just the other day for a deck.

I'm probably being too pendantic, but neither the "Leaving play" section in the rulebook, or the "points area" section of the glossary say anything about point boxes on cards that do not specify how you score those points. Both are concerned with what happens "after" you have scored them...
