Hi guys,

Singha Refugee Camp says:
Personnel affected by Comfort Women played on Bajor gain [1E-AU].

So if I understand that correctly, Refugee Camp and Comfort Women together do this:
All Bajoran (species) females become [Car] and gain [1E-AU].

Correct?

Also, all Cardassians with a staffing icon are native to that timeline. Right?
(Because it says ... 'Terok Nor' in lore or [Stf] .)

That's how I read it.

Not quite right. Comfort Women says [Baj] females, so that means Kasidy Yates and Vedek Dax count as well. They don't have to be Bajoran species.

Yes. As I understand it, Rules decided awhile ago that the "even if not in play" text on cards like Continuing Mission is unnecessary.

I asked this in another thread but this is a better place for it.

My question:
Singha Refugee Camp says "Personnel affected by Comfort Women played on Bajor gain [1E-AU]."

Comfort Women seeds on bajor but does not play. Is that a meaningful distinction? Should singha say "seeded on bajor"?

Armus's reply
Huh. I read that as "personnel who are affected by comfort women [who are] played on Bajor gain [1E-AU]" as a way to make them native to the time location.

Your read seems to be "personnel who are affected by comfort women [that is] played on Bajor gain [1E-AU]" which I would agree is mis-worded and should say "seed".

I don't think that there's a distinction here. To hold that there's a distinction here (because it was never PLAYED) would be to hold that you could, for example, seed Reshape the Quadrant, download Where Opportunities Are Made to your Ferengi Trading Post, and then seed a D'Kora Marauder without breaking Reshape the Quadrant, because you didn't PLAY a non- [1E-DS9] ship, you SEEDED one, and I don't think that would be at all an intuitive result.

Um... that's actually how that works.

Seeded cards are specifically NOT Played....

Well I'll be darned. In that case, we need to errata Refugee Camp as proposed, because as written there is NEVER a Comfort Women that has been played on Bajor.

Well, there's no prior example of describing personnel reported to a facility at a planet as "played on" the planet. For that matter, do they ever descibe personnel as "played" instead of "reported" period? If no, then I think it questionable to ascribe a new word this one time.

I'm another who read it as "Comfort Women (that is) played".

But also double checking that any [1E-DS9] [Car] with [Stf] or Terok Nor-related is native, including [MQ] [Car] ?

yeah it means Comfort Women (that is) played on Bajor to distinguish CW from it's other uses. I guess because someone could say "I'm playing Comfort Women on Gul Dukat who is present with Kai Winn so he can gain MEDICAL and since Winn is effected by this card now she had [1E-AU] ."?

I would guess that is why it doesn't just say "personnel effected by comfort women gain [1E-AU] ". It is redundant for the Verek III one since all the [NA] [22] personnel are already AU. But someone could mess around with the first use if you don't restrict it to the Bajor usage (I guess?)

Also "personnel who are affected by comfort women [who are] played on Bajor gain [1E-AU]" doesn't make much sense because you can't really play personnel to Bajor. Not the planet's surface anyway. Unless you are doing some shenanigans like Dividian Door. The object is to make them playable to the time location so that is why the camp grants them [1E-AU]
