After getting walloped a few times with no Battle Bridge I've decided to start including one. However, not many Tactics are compatible with my ships and since I'm using them for mainly defense I feel like only putting a couple cards in my BB so that I can draw the same one over and over, but this seems like a mistake.

Since there's no size limit or limit on numbers of copies of a card to your Battle Bridge there's really no downside to putting however many Tactics you need in there in whatever proportions you need.

There is one Battle Bridge deck that relies on specific numbers, which is the 2x Maximum Firepower, 2x "Crimson Forcefield" one, but that runs the risk of drawing both copies of "Crimson Forcefield" (which is a one-in-six chance).

If you're primarily looking for a defensive Battle Bridge deck, though, there probably isn't any specific numbers you need.

Yes, if you have any intention of winning a battle and damaging your opponent.

Here is the correct Battle Bridge side deck for someone who is looking for defense and simplicity:

Evasive Maneuvers x16

end of side deck

It synergizes well with damage dilemmas and dilemmas that target / requires Astrophysics, Physics, or ENGINEER, such as The Cloud and Nanobiogenic Fugitives.

16 copies ensures you don't run out, with a ridiculous amount of extra padding in case you somehow do.

If all you want to do is try to avoid damage during ship battle, you could just run a single Evasive Maneuvers. (Close Quarters Combat, Plasma Energy Burst and T'Pol/Soong Maneuver will all work with the right ships to get the same DEFENSE 4, though Plasma Energy Burst will place itself on the opponent's ship and not cause HULL damage so it won't come back to the side deck if that's all you're running.)

Otherwise, as James noted, playing multiple copies of Evasive Maneuvers is probably your best bet.

i'd say 12......... you can absord a hit from most Borg Cubes.

Don't forget if you are playing with small ships that landing on planets is your friend. can't shoot at landed ships (if they are battling a lot they probably have Orbital Bombardment in their tent).

There are lots of defensive cards besides tactics. Narrow Escape, Magnetic North, Asteroid Sanctuary, Emergency evacuation

for example..........
