Your Topic Is Similar

No it’s not!

I like the feature where the forum searches old topics and suggests that you may want to reply to one of those instead making a new thread. However, if I think my topic is distinct from those, it is not giving me an option to post my topic anyway. This is on my iPhone, latest iOS on Safari.

@jadziadax8 What was the subject you were trying to use?

I don't like that when I try to post an online event, Your Topic Is Similar shows me every online event we've ever run in one long continuous scroll.

+1

This feature can go away and not be missed.

I found it amusing that when I started on my newest bookworm dc it didn't list any of my old ones, but rather I had a list of the 1e->2e threads.

Have you guys been experiencing this lately? I changed the settings for Organized Play forums, and I was hoping this would be addressed.

In the category of "Things that annoy Ross' ...

There is a new feature that lets you know if your topic has an overlap with other already existing topic. This is a good tool for us to have, particularly the mods to consolidate topics as necessary but man, this thing is hyper sensitive.

I make a post and twelve alternate suggestions come up. From one board.

Like many things that annoy Ross, this might just have to be something Ross ahs to live with but can this feature be dialed back juuuuuust a bit so that maybe here are only like three (six?) suggestions?

I posted for this week's question and had problems with the title "HumQ" We want you, we want you, we want you as the new recruit." I had to shorten this in order for the post to go through. The box came up that it was checking for similar titles but it did not let me progress.

More annoying than being near a giraffe give birth!

I don't know. It might be a point in its favor if it induces brevity on Ross. All in favor? :shifty:

So, this is still a problem on my mobile. I wanted to wish all the dads a Happy Father’s Day in the buzz. There are two similar topics listed (one for Mother’s Day and one for Christmas). When I press the Submit button, the site won’t let my post through.

I do not have this problem on my computer. I am using an iPhone 8 with Safari and iOS 14.6.

Still an issue. See my earlier thread.

Note: the auto-topic-suggestion wasn’t clever enough to suggest anything earlier! Ha!
