erroneous post.
is there no remove button in the mobile AND desktop version of forum?
usually I can delete posts... not this one; and never on mobile (i think).
@Global moderators: please tell me (in PM?) why I can't delete some posts, and can delete (most) others?
And please delete this bogus post. Thx!

While this post may have been bogus where originally posted, it is a perfectly cromulent question for this forum, thus I moved it here so that our tech masters could see and answer it.

Deleting posts (as in completely disappearing them, not just editing to no text) after they've been read by someone else can lead to some wonky behavior. The forum doesn't necessarily clean up properly after that sort of deletion. So with that in mind, I disabled the ability to delete your own posts. Or at least, it should be disabled. There may be some forum-specific settings I missed.

OK. I often forget to "@" people, or another quote, or something; I then copy the post text, delete original, and re-post with additions.
This often works, but not always. This may be the reason. Thx for info!
