My dear local organizers in Europe!
To follow the tradition I've started last year I would like to open up this thread to coordinate next year's high level events in Europe.
As last year this thread will only cover up Masters, Nationals, Continentals and Worlds.
My goal would be to have at least as many high level events in 2019 as we've had in 2018.
Some dates to remeber:
We've had 4 1E Nationals and a 1E Master event. We've had 3 2E Nationals and last but not least 2 Tribbles Nationals (with another announced one in Sweden, but this one had to be cancelled). And of course we had Continentals for all three games in Kassel.
Those countries have participated in organizing high level events 2018: Sweden, Germany, UK, Austria.
To make something clear once again: Europe will only have one Masters for each game in a year. With Nationals being almost the same, and having a lot of Nations in Europe compared to the US, it is just fair that we "switch the sides" here. The US can only have one National event per year, to equalize that Europe will only have one Master event per game.
Please start planning your next year's high level events, please post your plans here or send me a message. I especially encourage the European player groups without any high level events in 2018 to send me a message if I could be of any help to organize something. I have proven last year with 1E Nationals in Sweden for example, that you don't need a big local playgroup or a lot of local tournaments to get a high level event; each and everyone can try it our once. Of course, if a high level event in a location turns our to be a complete failure, it probably won't happen again there, but to stay with my example Sweden: the event was a success, everyone has had a lot of fun, so most likely there will be another Swedish Nationals in 2019 (if Jörn wants to ).
Especially with World coming to Europe in 2019 it should be possible to encourage new players or to reactivate players who have quit some time ago. If you need any help in this matter, please feel free to contact me as well.
And finally, here is what we already have:
*) May 5th: 2E & Tribbles Austrian Nationals @ Vienna (2E: https://www.trekcc.org/tournament/index ... ntID=11009, Tri: https://www.trekcc.org/tournament/index ... ntID=11010)
