For that matter, these movies have been a pretty good scam. They give you everything you need to know at the start of the movie so you don't need to be all caught up and see every single one, but they make you feel otherwise.
Kind of like not reading to read the Harry Potter books in order to know what's going on, how you can start off with Deep Space Nine without watching The Next Generation, The Old Testament doesn't end with To be Continued , etc.
