In contrast to the binge thread, what shows do you recommend more on a one or two at a time schedule. Rather than block off an entire day, what would work for someone who has a twenty or forty minute free interval to go through?

Lots of good stuff on YouPorn for that.

The first season of Dirk Gently is one that can use some breaks between eps.

I can't binge the new Titans - it's just too broodydark.

And used to be that we had to turn off South Park after three episodes because our vocabulary went straight down the toilet.

The Wire. Give it a week between episodes, a year between seasons. Exquisite television.

Continuum

Good show but would say you gotta take it easy as it kinda grinds on a bit.

Decent time travel theme. Plays fast and loose with paradoxes though so maybe not for you if that is gonna trigger you.

For a non-sci fi show I absolutely love back for a 4th season.

Billions

It's like a Wall Street finance / law thriller with A+ acting and writing.

Always good to bask in the aftermath of the big events that happen almost every episode.

One of the few non Sci Fi shows I watch.

Incorporated

Very sad this one got the early axe. Was really enjoying their setup. Still worth watching the single 10 ep season. Nothing wrong with it, great acting, great story just people didn't watch it and Syfy didn't wanna stump the cash for another season.

I started to watch 'Love. Death. Robots.' on Netflix. It's an anthology series, with episodes between 10-20 minutes. As with all anthologies, some stories will hit closer than others, but overall I've been really impressed with the art and the stories.

Some of them are really funny, some of them really intriguing and engaging, but I haven't had one that I did not like yet (7 episodes in now).

I always enjoyed Bob's Burgers when I found it flipping through the channels. Once when I was at the library, I saw they had the DVDs of one of the seasons, so I borrowed it. I couldn't watch it, though; without the commercial breaks I got sick of the storylines and the characters. I still think the show is hilarious but I can't even binge a single episode.

My go to is Super Sentai. It;s what Power Rangers is based on and like any long running show, some seasons are better than others. It is still a kids show, but they have some great plotting and while it can get formulaic, when it's good, it's good.

The endings are just so similar, though. They morph, get into robots and fight the gigantic bad guy. It's just too much to binge, but one (or maybe two) at a time is good.

The most recently completed season (Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger) is highly recommended. Head over to Shout to stream some not so recent seasons.

How about Black Mirror? Anthology as well, dancing around the sci-fi horror psychological drama genres. With some very fresh ideas. I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned in tandem with Love Death + Robots, since BM exists longer, yet they have some similarities in concept / atmosphere.

I once wanted to binge-watch Stargate SG-1, but that turned out wrong (for aforementioned Continuum reasons); it's nice to digest for me, though. Once every few months. To binge-watch, I need a lot more depth from my characters, themes, and plots.

Same with, e.g., ER. If you like hospitals and medical stuff and drama.

USS Callister is amazing.

I only just got into Black Mirror recently.

Some of the episodes have extreme production values and some of the scifi concepts are very deep and thought provoking.

I'm actually really happy that Disney+ will be doing all their new shows on a weekly release schedule. I don't mind binging, but the cultural shift it's created in fandom (binge, discuss, silence) is one I don't like. I like being able to talk and speculate about shows as they unfold.

Good that somebody mentions it...
I've heard good and bad things about that. What do you like about it? And why digest it (as opposed to binge it)?
Anybody else seen it, opinions?
