It's League Season in Chicago and while I have slacked off on my posting duties in this forum, our league has been going strong. Current standings are as follows:
Player WCT Points Total (including HQ Bonus)
Al Schaefer 36 36
Maggie Geppert 32 32
Eric Bieche 30 30
Michael Moskop 12 12
Nathan Britsch 6 6
Yes, yes, I forgot to do the HQ bonus last month.
Anyway, our next League events are next Saturday, December 15th starting at noon. This is the annual Chicagoland STCCG holiday party hosted in the Basement of Doom (thanks for that one, Justin; I'm using that name from here on out), AKA my place. I've got simultaneous 1E and 2E constructed events scheduled for noon, followed by Tribbles whenever the other tournaments are done.
Each of the three events is a Chase the Can event as part of December's Peldor Gratitude Festival. Entry fee for 1E or 2E is 3 cans and Tribbles will cost you 5, and all cans collected will go to Northwest Compass, a social service agency located in Mount Prospect. In addition to the entry fee, both 1E and 2E events are scheduled in the unsanctioned Bend the Rules format, where you can spend extra cans to use additional rules each round.
As is usual with the holiday party, family and other friends are welcome to come along. A number of non-Trek gamers have also been invited, so there will be lots of opportunities to play other stuff. We'll turn on the Steam link so the kids can play Castle Crashers, Fortnite or Minecraft upstairs until their thumbs fall off (and leave us alone downstairs).
Oh, and did I mention I'm making a turkey and a ham? And Batman beer is on tap.
