Academy is really the worst format ever.

I've played in exactly one Academy event ever so I have very little basis for comparison.

Well, taking away U and R cards might have made sense in the Decipher days. Allowing V cards might have made sense when there were less CC cards than Decipher cards. That's not the case anymore, therefore I'd say this format is outdated.

However what made me post my response was sheer frustration. I was thinking about playing this tourney and I had a couple of deck ideas in mind. , and for example. When I started building them I quickly found out that all of my ideas were void cuz one or more key cards weren't eligable.
Let's not forget that Decipher cards aren't rated C, U or R cuz of their gameplay value. It's a collectors thing.

So where HoF basically enhances deck building, Academy very much limits it.
