I tend to agree. The tiled ceiling in the room this year should allow for an overhead view (or, at least that was my hope).

Bryan, I'll be sending you a PM back.

Can we poll for the Trouble pile? There are a lot of Tribble powers from the new set that key off having a pile. We always play with a pile in Ferenginar, so i know already thats 4-5 votes from us.

I would vote no on this because that would skew the meta to everyone playing Control/Reset/Shift. There would be no other decks because the incentive to play Control when there are Troubles (scoring the Miss values) is too big to ignore. There are no counters to those cards so it wouldn't even be the scenario where some people would come packing heat against them.

It's the mirror/generosity scenario all over again.

I think he means that everyone was playing the same decks.

You can read a blurb about the Cool Tournament in the OPG. I would copy and paste it, but that doesn't work on my phone.

Basically, people make wacky theme decks and play them. I once did a triple HQ deck to make [KCA] before that HQ existed.

I did an all-Dax deck, in which all non-personnel cards had to feature Jadzia or Ezri, or come from a Dax-centric episode.

@flrazor won a 1E Cool event once by building a deck where every personnel had also been on Cheers.

Page 12 Organized Play Guide - Version 5.0 wrote:4.4.4 – The "Cool" Tournament
May be used for First Edition, Second Edition, and Tribbles events.
In this scenario, it is not about winning but what you play and how you play it. Style is the name of the game, where the
"coolest" decks earn special prizes (and not just the winning decks!) The tournament director may award prizes to the
"coolest" decks at their discretion. This format is sanctioned but unrated.

Will be landing in San Fran 9:30AM local time on Sunday. Wife and I will be doing some tourism rounds this week, prior to the events. If anyone has any recommendations, or wants to meet up to share some adventures, let me know. We'll be staying at the King George until the 3rd.

Cliche but worth doing:

- golden gate park is bigger then you think and fun to walk, or take the tiny vehicles. I've lived in the area of 5 years, been there at least 13 times with the kids (Pokemon go weekends), and still parts I've never explored
- Drive over the golden gate bridge, visit the vista point
- take a cruise under the bridge, I've been on the Blue/Gold fleet several times
- Drive down the coast thru Half-Moon bay to Santa Cruz. As a former floridian, the idea of beaches being cold is weird, but awesome.

feel free to PM me for my phone number. I'm working during the week, but off starting Thursday, available for meetups, and especially if there's anything anyone needs.
