This will be your information hub for the STCCG World Championship 2025 in Germany. The plan is to post articles to the main page, but collect links in this thread because the articles section isn't always the easiest place to navigate.

Basic info:

  • When? Friday, 15th August - Sunday, 17th August, 2025
  • Where? Bürgerhaus Unterschleißheim, near Munich, Germany
  • What? Star Trek CCG events for all editions: 1E, 2E, Tribbles
  • Who can play? The event is open to everybody! There will be "traditional" events using original Decipher cards, "modern" events using virtual cards, as well as (re-)learn to play opportunities for those who haven't touched their cards in years.
  • What to bring? A list of what you need to bring for the various events will be posted at later date. There will be also be sealed/draft formats for which all materials will be provided by the organisers.
  • How much is it going to cost? Pricing still needs to be finalised, but expect it to be around 30€ for one day / 50€ for all three days, with heavy discounts for first-timers.
Articles:
  • format details
  • entry fee and prize support

Tournament info:

The exact schedule is still being finalized. Expect an update around the end of February.
As a general rule, we will try run whatever format people want to play. Please note that sealed product is limited, so please pre-register once all events are in the system.

Just a heads up that we listened to the feedback regarding this year's upcoming promos and have pivoted to something more... Region specific. Special thanks to everyone involved, particularly @MidnightLich who was the driving force behind this year's OP theme. Stay tuned for spoilers! :cheersL:

My sabbatical application has been approved by the provost. It awaits approval by the president (not a guarantee), so I am much closer to making this.

Please note:

The venue for Worlds has changed. This is a good thing. Read on for details.

The new address is:

Bürgerhaus Unterschleißheim
Rathausplatz 1
85716 Unterschleißheim

What happened?
The city council approached me offering/asking to upgrade our event into a different building. Since the new venue is the one I had originally hoped to get, I happily accepted when it became available due to a change in maintenance work schedule.

Why is the new venue the preferred choice?
The new venue offers several advantages:
[SD] Location: The new venue is about a 15-minute-walk away from the old one, but overall much more convenient: The S-Bahn stop Unterschleißheim is only 200 meters away. This will make it much easier to get there and back from the airport or Munich city centre by public transport.
[SD] Catering: We will have an Italian restaurant right next door, so it will be a lot easier to grab something to eat between rounds. The owner of the restaurant has a catering contract for the venue and has offered to set up a bar (incl. beer) for us in the room where we will be playing; we will be sorting out details in the coming weeks.
There is also a Greek restaurant outside on the square.
[SD] Wifi: The new venue has better (free) wifi, streaming should be no problem.
[SD] Size: We will have a 5,000sqft ballroom and won't have to run events in two different rooms.
[SD] Service: The new venue comes with a few perks, like them setting up the tables for us according to our gaming needs the night before, security service, etc. The less I (and those of you who have so kindly offered to help !) need to worry about some of those things, the more I can focus on making sure everyone has a good time.

I’m staying at … / travelling from … What does that change mean for me?
[SD] If you booked a room at the Infinity Hotel, your walk will be slightly shorter.
[SD] If you are staying at the Hotel Alarun, the distance will be longer - but since the new venue is right next to S-Bahn stop Unterschleißheim, you can just hop on the S-Bahn at Lohhof close to the hotel, and get off at the next stop. This means you can get to the new venue faster than to the old one.
[SD] If you are staying somewhere around Munich city centre, your trip to the venue will be shorter (saves you about 15 minutes of walking)
[SD] If you arrive by car, there will be some (free) parking close to the venue, and an underground garage right below.

The Worlds 2025 – Venue, Travel, Accommodation article and tournament detail pages will be updated accordingly soon, and an announcement on the front page will go up once the Premiere Remastered release business is over.

Apologies for any inconvenience this might cause.

Thanks! This is great news if I can indeed make the logistics work out to come, as I'd plan to stay in Munich CBD.
