This is exciting!
SpaceX is planning a Saturday, October 7 launch of an Airbus-built communications satellite from pad 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The approximately 11,500-pound (5,200-kilogram) spacecraft will blast off aboard a reused Falcon 9 first stage during a two-hour launch window opening at 6:53 p.m. EDT (2253 GMT).
Also, a United Launch Alliance Atlas 5 rocket will launch a classified spacecraft payload for the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office. The launch is schedule for Thursday, October 5th between 3:30-5:00 a.m. EDT from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (which is just south of Kennedy Space Center).
Launches can usually be seen from Orlando for anyone who can't make the 30-40 minute drive to the coast.
