Yes, it's a Cardassian solver, he'll put up the decklist prob after day 2 tomorrow. The top 2 players were bothh playing Cardassians; all 3 of the Cardies and both Romulans made top 8. :)

TOP 8 was 3x cardi, 3x Relitivity, and 2xRom... Looks over at the 2e affiliation power thread and laughs a bit at it's inaccuracy, goes and fixes it a BIT, some one else will have to do the Relativity fixing.

Michael and I had mirror match and his version is better than mine --- our dilemmas were mostly blanks. I solved two missions and Michael and I had time to confirm that I needed probably two more turns to keep solve my last mission and keep up with his behemoth! It was a good chance for me to see the weaknesses in my deck design I hadn't had the chance to work out.

Greg's Mod Wins were self inflicted ... he had me decked out (with some Cardassian help) with one mission solved and three others attempted (I think) ... he managed to solve two when time was called.

My last game vs Amber was a slog too as my deck misbehaved! It seems the deck gremlins were active on both sides of the table with Amber desperately searching for two game winning cards.

The rematch with Craig ended disappointingly with Craig misreading a card and questioning whether it was time to get new glasses.

Fun times ... looking forward to tomorrow :)

I´ve heard Cardassians are pretty good now, but 17 and 18 minutes is more then excellent. After my return to STCCG 2E I decided to run every affiliation at least once. So far I´ve tried Klingons, DS9, Bajorans+TNG, Romulan+Cardassian Dissidents and the deck I will play tomorrow. There are so many juicy ideas I want to try out. But finishing a game in under 20 minutes? Wow, just wow!

Cheers

This was a different situation, instead of playing a powerful lockout deck that can't score bonus points I played one that can. When people don't play often, timed games are inevitable because they aren't familiar with their decks and almost definitely not with the cards in the opponents deck. My timed game against Steve was because I'm an idiot and against MvB because I had made a big mistake earlier in the game, breathing life in to the match late in the game and making for a tense finish.

Unfortunately my battery died today so I couldn't post anything in all the spare time I had between rounds. I was playing Romulan Assassins, much like Richard New's deck from gencon. I added a combo that is probably the best feeling I've ever had in 2E when it lands, Tides of Fortune + Soul Searching. 15 bonus points and your own dilemma under a mission of your choice.
